Merle Eileen Fry Isaacs 94, Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Fulton, Indiana, passed away at 4:20 A.M. Tuesday January 10, 2017 at her residence.

She was born on October 21, 1922, in Rogersville, Tennessee, the daughter ofCalvin and Rosa Manes MacLain. When she was one year old, she moved with her family to Kewanna where she was raised and attended school. She graduated from Caston High School in 1970. On July 17, 1939, she married Donald Lee Fry in Logansport. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1971. She married Rollie E. Isaacs in October 1974. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1999.

Mrs. Isaacs worked for many years at RBM/Essex. She also worked several years at Woodland Hospital. She enjoyed reading, fishing, boating and shelling. After retirement she moved from Logansport IN to Broaddus TX. In 2000, she relocated to Fort Myers FL. She was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star for over 67 years and belongs to Fort Myers Chapter No. 31. She has served many offices as well as Worthy Matron in Fulton twice and in Broaddus TX.  She also served as District 18 President. While in Indiana, she was active in the Liberty Homemakers Club and in the Fulton United Methodist Ladies Aid Society. Since there were 10 girls in the family, the girls formed their own Sisters Club and the sister-in-laws also participated. She was very active in her church in Broaddus TX and served as her Sunday School class President.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Phillip) Leever, Fort Myers FL, Her son, David Fry, Jamestown, TN, nine grandchildren; Kathryn (James) Freel, Jack Waltz, Ken Waltz, Melody (Mark) Studebaker, Rita Waltz, Kimberly Upchurch, Jonathon Hook, Heather Smith, Leslie Oliver, twenty great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren. Three sisters; Jessie Hines, Ruth Hart, and Emily Brown; one brother, Lawrence MacLain and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Lee Fry II, her daughter Lelia Anne (Jack) Waltz, a granddaughter, Jodi Hook, and a great grandson, Sidney Waltz, six sisters; Mattie Rainey, Blanche Culver, Roxie Fry, Marilyn Zartman, Flo Conley, Gladys Stutzman and 2 brothers, Hugh and Clifford MacLain.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday January 21, 2017 at the Fulton Baptist Temple, Fulton, Indiana with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating. Friends may visit Saturday at the church from 9-11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Fulton Cemetery, Fulton, Indiana, where Eastern Star Services will be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana.
