Donna Jean “Donnie” Grosvenor Metheny 95, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 3:40 P.M. Friday February 10, 2017 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana.

She was born on August 6, 1921 in Milford, Indiana, the daughter of Floyd E. and Blanche F. (Long) Cretcher. She was a proud graduate of Bourbon High School - Class of 1939. On March 23, 1940 in Peru, Indiana, she married Calvin Grosvenor. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1969. On January 6, 1973 in Rochester, Indiana, she married Wayne E. Metheny. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2002.

Donna starting working at a young age wrapping butter for nine cents an hour until getting married. She worked alongside her husband, Calvin, on the family farm with over twenty thousand chickens producing eggs and eventually helping him with Rochester Cement Products. She spent many years working with her second husband, Wayne, farming as well. At the age of sixty five, she went back into the workforce at Northern Indiana Behavioral Health Care in Plymouth, Indiana, retiring at age ninety two. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Morning Glory Circle. She truly loved the Lord with all her heart, with all her soul, and with all her mind. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing cards and games, and taking care of her family.

Survivors include her children, Timothy and wife Lynne Grosvenor, Rochester, Tom and wife Val Grosvenor, Rochester, Debby Grosvenor and companion Lonnie Evans, Logansport, Peg Grosvenor Howell, Rochester. She was known as Grandma Donna to her grandchildren, Anjanette and husband Michael Paul, Atlanta, Georgia, Kari Grosvenor, Kewanna, Trevor Grosvenor and companion Kaleigh Collins, Rochester, Courtney Vojtasek, Alexandria, Virginia, Blake and wife Sarah Vojtasek, Indianapolis, Britt and husband Tony Hancock, Danville, Indiana, Jordan and husband Brent Woodruff, Fort Lee, Virginia, Caleb and wife Jennifer Howell, Rochester, Austin Howell, Rochester, Byron and wife Jennifer Osborn, Royal Center, Linc Osborn, Racine Wisconsin, Marji Osborn, Rochester, Eric and wife Marsha Metheny, Coldwater, Michigan, Nick and wife Stephanie Metheny, Indianapolis, Karla and husband Jeremy Cox, Camby, Indiana; great grandchildren, Kori Rouch and Ryli Rouch, both of Kewanna, Gent Grosvenor, Rochester, Matthew Osborn, Racine, Wisconsin, Chase Thomas and Megan Thomas, Rochester, Anna Osborn and Byron Osborn, Wabash, Georgia Vojtasek, Indianapolis, and soon to be great granddaughter and name sake, Kaylee Jean Woodruff, Fort Lee, Virginia; brothers, Benjamin and wife Maxine Cretcher, Bourbon, Norman and wife Pat Cretcher, Tucson, Arizona, sister of the heart/sister-in-law, Dorothy Cretcher Wray and husband Lewis, Bourbon. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice G. Grosvenor and brother, Nilas Cretcher.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M.Wednesday February 15, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Rochester, Indiana, with Pastor Gail Law officiating. Friends may visit from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Summit Chapel Cemetery, Bourbon, Indiana.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church or to Gideon’s Bible.
