Mihai Mateescu 78, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 7:30 P.M. Monday December 26, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on July 12, 1938 in Romania, the son of Matei and Maria (Drijan) Mateescu.

Mr. Mateescu was born and raised in Romania before coming to America as a young adult settling in New York. He later worked in Florida and then Chicago as a machine operator for University Medical Scientific Instruments before retiring to Rochester, Indiana.

Survivors include his two daughters in Timisoara, Romania and brother, Matei Mateescu, Timisoara, Romania. He was preceded by his parents and a sister.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Saturday December 31, 2016 At Hamlet Cemetery, Talma, Indiana. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
