John and I have been friends for many years. We shared a common bond that grew thru our Catholic faith, involvement in Rotary, love of Notre Dame Football and the Cubs. John was a bighearted man who had been thru a lot, but walked thru life with a smile on his face. He had a lot more to give, but God had other plans for him. He will be truly missed.

My deepest sympathies to your entire family. It has been a great joy for me to get to know John as I worked with him on numerous activities for the benefit of our diocese. He will be missed. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord...and let your perpetual light shine upon him. Amen.

John was an incredible soul placed on this Earth for a purpose which was to shine the light of God daily. He did this with great ease through his humor, true friendship, and honest caring for others. He will be greatly missed by all those he came into contact with. My heart and prayers go out to all the family members of John who are mourning his loss. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. (Matthew 5:4)

I will never forget John and the way he helped me and my daughter through tough times, he was a dear friend and will forever be remembered and missed. His sense of humor was something I always looked forward to when meeting and speaking with him. He truly was one of a kind.
