Maralyn L. Booher

September 23, 1932 ~ August 12, 2016 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Maralyn L. Booher 83, Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at 11:40 A.M. Friday, August 12, 2016,  in her sleep surrounded by loved ones at Creekside Village Nursing Home, Mishawka.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ercel (Powell) Myers, her eldest son, Jonathan Marcus Booher and her husband of 40 years,Ray E Booher.

She is survived by her children, Penny (Michele Nowak) Booher of South Bend, Indiana, David (Christine) Booher, of Coto De Caza, California and Nathan (Dana) Booher of St. Charles, Missouri.

She has six grandchildren. Gretchen (Reese) Shidler, Star City, Indiana, Adam Booher, Dayton, Ohio, Hillary Booher, West Lafayette, Indiana, Clara Booher, Coto De Caza, California, Morgan Booher and Mitchell Booher., both of St. Charles, Missouri and one great grandchild, Elliot Shidler.

Maralyn was born in Rochester, Indiana, where she graduated from Rochester High school. After high school, Maralyn went on to graduate from Nursing school. She met her husband Ray during high school. They were married February 28, 1954 in Rochester.

After Ray was discharged from the Air Force, they settled in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he managed a drug store.

Maralyn worked as a nurse and receptionists for three pediatricians at the AP&S Clinic in Terre Haute.

Maralyn joined the Terre Haute Newcomers club where she shared her joy for crafts and counted cross stitch. She was also president of the Newcomers Club where she made many new and life- long friends.

She was an avid collector of Boyd's Bears, often traveling to find the newest one. She also loved playing domino's and Bingo. She will be sadly missed by Many.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 16, 2016 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made to the Maralyn Booher Memorial Fund. Services are being handled by Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home in Rochester, Indiana. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
