John E. Brock, 66, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 11:39 P.M. Saturday August 13, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on October 15, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Roland J. and Gertrude “Trudy” (Lighty) Brock.

John was a 1975 graduate of St. Joseph College, Rensselaer, Indiana, with a degree in Economics and Sociology and went on to serve as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. John worked as a Voucher Administrator for Four County Counseling, Rochester, Indiana. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was active in the R.C.I.A. and youth Religious Education, the Knights of Columbus, past President of the Rochester Rotary Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Moose Lodge, Fulton County Mental Health Association, and served on the Step Ahead Board of Directors, Safe Kids Chapter. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame and Ohio State fan.

Survivors include his children, Kathleen Mary Brock, Blue Island, Illinois, Brian Jeffrey Kasallis, Roselle, Illinois, grandson, Devin Quaintance, Blue Island, Illinois, several step children and step grandchildren, sister, Dena and husband Chuck Judge, Crossett, Arkansas, sisters-in-law, Anita Brock, LaPorte, Indiana, Betty Brock, Portage, Indiana, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Caryl Elizabeth Brock, brothers, John Paul Brock, Gene Brock, K.C. Brock and sisters, Judy Dickerson and Lana Brock.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. Thursday August 18, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, Indiana, with Rev. Michael McKinney officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday August 17, 2016 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Interment will take place at a later date at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport, Indiana.
