William M. O’Blenis 91, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 4:44 A.M. Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
He was born on July 27, 1932 in Rochester, Indiana, the son of Milton Ray and Eva B. (Wolfe) O’Blenis. On September 5, 1951 in Rochester, Indiana he married Earline Cloud and she survives.
Mr. O’Blenis was an U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from the United States Postal Service and had also operated his own construction business, O’Blenis Construction. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Elk’s Lodge serving as past Exlated Ruler, Odd Fellows Lodge, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed woodworking, guns and John Deere Tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Earline O’Blenis, Rochester, Indiana, children, Timothy (Sandra) O’Blenis, Rochester, Indiana, Lisa D. (Steven) Smith, Sedgwick, Kansas, Deena K. (Richard) Smith, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Karen O’Blenis, Walkerton, Indiana, Jennifer O’Blenis, Mishawaka, Indiana, Stacey (Steven) Heinzman, Rochester, Indiana, Aaron (Kalyn) Ranstead, Rochester, Indiana, Cory (Jennifer) Smith, Rochester, Michigan, Michael (Minori) Smith, Houston, Texas, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alvena Mollencupp.
