Virginia R. Nelson

Virginia "Gina" R. Nelson, 73, of Macy, Indiana, passed away at 11:04 P.M. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on June 29, 1952, in Peru, Indiana, the daughter of Earl W. and Bessie (Farley) Whitlock.

Gina attended Northwestern University and Purdue University. She started her professional career in nursing as a trauma nurse at a downtown Chicago, Illinois hospital. She retired from BayCare Health Systems in Clearwater, Florida, where she had been the diabetes educator for several hospitals. After retiring she returned to live in Indiana. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, decorating, visiting museums, and was a gifted artist who enjoyed painting.

Survivors include her companion, Jeffery Mullen, Macy, Indiana, daughters, Debra Marks, Colorado, Jennifer (Joe) Angle, Texas, grandchildren, Natalie Marks, Rachel Marks, Zachary Angle, Lauren Angle, Ashley Angle, Landry Angle, several great grandchildren, brother, Donald (Susan) Whitlock, Hebron, Indiana, sister, Patricia (Jeff) Smith, New Buffalo, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
