Stephen Olmsted Obituary

Stephen “Steve” Ray Olmsted 73, Rochester, Indiana, passed away in his sleep May 13, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Steve was born on March 29, 1953 in Neligh, Nebraska to Donald and Lora (Lowe) Olmsted. On July 30, 1982, he married Susan (White) Faricelli at Grace Methodist Church in Rochester.

Steve served in the U.S. Army and Indiana National Guard during the Vietnam War. He worked as a sales manager for Talma Fastener and later Topp Industries from where he retired.

Steve was a devoted follower of Jesus and as a member of the Heartland Church in Rochester. He had been a youth leader at The Cross and Athens Community Church. Steve was known for his kindness and his sense of humor. To know him, was to love him. He could fix just about anything and never hesitated to come to the aid of family and friends. He enjoyed many things in his life from riding motorcycles and camping, to doing puzzles and working out at the gym. However, he got his greatest joy from spending time with his family.

Steve is survived by his wife, Susan Olmsted, son, Scott (Cathryn) Faricelli, daughters, Candace (Shane) Foust, Hope (John) Eaton, grandchildren, Scott Foust and Cameron Foust, Samantha Faricelli, Elias Eaton, Audrey Eaton, and Jesse Eaton. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, David Olmsted and Daryl Olmsted.

No services are scheduled at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Animal Adoption and Education Center. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
