Sharon K. Van Meter Jones

Sharon K. Van Meter Jones 81, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 1:52 A.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at her residence.

She was born on November 21, 1941 in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Lewis J. and Louise (Woodcox) Polk. On June 18, 1960 in Rochester, Indiana, she married Robert E. Van Meter Jr. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2000. On May 28, 2004 in Rochester, Indiana, she married Darrell M. Jones. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2011.

Sharon had worked at the former Louderback Auto Dealership in Rochester and had been a homemaker. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, Rochester High School Booster Club, and Fulton County Choir. She enjoyed singing with the Notables, at weddings and other Church events over the years. She also enjoyed watching western movies, computers, reading books, crafts, ceramics and going to garage sales.

Survivors include her children, Robert (Rebekah) Van Meter, Rochester, Indiana, Laura (Randy) Baugher, Rochester, Indiana, Betsy (Rick) Worden, Galveston, Indiana, Lewis (Jennifer) Van Meter, Wanatah, Indiana, Joshua Van Meter, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Lynnelee (Ronnie) Roberts, Sheridan, Indiana, Derrick (Samantha) Worden, Logansport, Indiana, Bailey Van Meter and fiancé” Zach Busse, Peru, Indiana, Skyler Van Meter, Forest, Indiana, Kyle Van Meter, Wanatah, Indiana, Daisy Van Meter, Wanatah, Indiana, great grandchildren, Noel, Briella, Lee, Wade, Gabe, and Annabelle Roberts, all of Sheridan, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harley Lewis Polk and sister, Linda Anne Polk.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Homes, Rochester, Indiana. Friends may visit from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Citizens Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rochester High School Booster Club.
