Sharon Kay Mikesell, 70, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 4:30 P.M. Thursday, January 4, 2024, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in South Whitley, Indiana.
She was born on June 23, 1953, in Magnolia, Arkansas, the daughter of Lloyd and Ina (Senter) Shipp. On April 12, 1991, in Rochester, Indiana, she married Troy A. Mikesell, and he survives her.
Sharon had been a homemaker. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, Rochester. In her leisure, time she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and had become an accomplished rock painter.
Survivors include her husband, Troy Mikesell, Rochester, Indiana, daughters, Leslie Renee’ Ranstead, Muncie, Indiana, Heather Layne (Ashley Bashop), South Whitley, Indiana, son, Greyson Krystopher Gall Mikesell, Rochester, Indiana, four grandchildren, Phillip Alston Troy Pugh, Rochester, Indiana, Gage Orion (Anna DuBois) Bower, Winamac, Indiana, Gavin Michael Shambarger, Rochester, Indiana, Gemma Joleigh Denton, Rochester, Indiana, one great grandchild, Paislee JoAnn Bower, Winamac, Indiana, brother, Terry Michael Johnson, Swannanoa, North Carolina. Preceding Sharon in death were her parents, daughter, Amanda Gall, brother, David Shipp, and great grandson, Maverick Bower.
A Celebration of life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 20 2024, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Athens Cemetery, Athens, Indiana at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
