Ronney Lee Doyle

Ronney Lee Doyle 80, Rochester, Indiana, and formerly of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away at 8:17 A.M., Sunday, September 28, 2025, at his residence.

He was born on August 20, 1945 in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of Ernest R. and Virginia A. (Felix) Doyle. In 1965, he married Betty Derflinger. She preceded him in death on November 4, 1998. On August 20 2011, he married Rose Mathias and she survives.

Ronney had worked as an electrician for Purdue University for over thirty years. He had been a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and Elks Lodge. He loved fishing and spending as much time on Lake Manitou, affectionally know on the lake as “Lake Rat”.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Doyle, Rochester, Indiana, children, Rick (Marjo) Doyle, Fort Myers, Florida, Angie (Tim) Young, Lafayette, Indiana, step-daughter, Kathy Stevens and companion David Way, Rochester, Indiana, grandsons, Jacob (Heather) Young, West Point, Indiana, Dustin (McKenzie) Young, Lafayette, Indiana, granddaughter, JoEllen Doyle, Jeffersonville, Indiana, great granddaughter, Charlotte Young, West Point, Indiana, great grandson, Westen Young, West Point, Indiana, step-grandsons, A.J. Eriks, Rochester, Indiana, step-granddaughters, Paige (Krys) Daulton, Rochester, Indiana, Liberty Daulton, Rochester, Indiana, sister-in-law, Nancy Doyle, Mulberry, Indiana, several nieces and nephews, long time friend, Mary Nelson, Mulberry, Indiana and his canine pal, Harley. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry Doyle, and sister, Shirley Wampler.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Fair Haven Cemetery, Mulberry, Indiana. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the donors’ favorite charity.
