Phyllis I. Paxton 93, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 5:28 A.M. Friday, December 1, 2023 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
She was born on June 6, 1930 in Swampscott, Massachusetts, the daughter of Francis and Katherine (Carruthers) Bradley. On February 8, 1968 in Toledo, Ohio, she married Earl “Bud” Paxton and he survives.
Phyllis had worked at the former A & P Grocery Store and had been a waitress at White Tower Restaurant. She had been a member of the Rochester Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed baking.
Survivors include her husband, Earl “Bud” Paxton, Rochester, Indiana, children, Sandy (James) Pohlman, Galveston, Indiana, Shelly Scott, Northwood, Ohio, Sue Tilton, Rochester, Indiana, Sheila Smith, Rochester, Indiana, Scott (Theresa) Heckert, Tennessee, step-children, Rose Marie (Pat) King, Florida, Mary Sue (Dave) Meiser, Indianapolis, Indiana, Rita Sasek, Indianapolis, Indiana, Linda (David) Gillison, Indianapolis, Indiana, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis was one of eleven children and was preceded in death by her son, Charles Heckert and grandsons, Charlie Heckert and David White.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rochester Church of the Nazarene.
