Phyllis J. Hays 67, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 10:25 P.M. Friday, March 5, 2021, at her residence.
She was born on August 30, 1953 in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Curtis and Metha (Gregory) Croussore. She married Gary D. Hays in 1968 in Birmingham, Alabama and He preceded her in death on May 19, 1992.
Phyllis received an associate degree in animal science and had volunteered for the Fulton County Veterinary Clinic. She had also worked for Fairmont Homes, Nappanee, Indiana, Hardee’s, Rochester Metals and spent the last sixteen years as Head Building Technician for Rochester Middle School. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and enjoyed watching Lifetime Movies.
Survivors include her daughters, Wendy (Doug) Bower, Rochester, Indiana, Vicki (Mark) Turnpaugh, Nyona Lake, Indiana, grandchildren, Samantha Jo Bower and fiance’ Cody Edson, Rochester, Indiana, Gage Bower and companion Anna DuBois, Rochester, Indiana, Dawson Bower, Rochester, Indiana, great grandchild to arrive in June, Paislee Jo Bower, sister, Lydia Glassburn, Rochester, Indiana, brother, Robert ( Debra) Croussore, Rochester, Indiana, nieces and nephews, Amanda (Joshua) Weyant, Rochester, Indiana, Timothy Glassburn, Akron, Indiana William (Gailanne) Croussore, Buckeye, Arizona, Dawn Boyer, Bourbon, Indiana, Christi (Larry) Alspach, Peru, Indiana, Christopher Working, Peru, Indiana, Jonathon Working and companion Allie Miller, Peru, Indiana, Garret (Danielle) Buell, Elkhart, Indiana, Mercedes Buell, Elkhart, Indiana, Alec Todd, Dallas, Georgia, Dyllan Todd, Dallas, Georgia, Taylor Todd, Dallas, Georgia, Jerrika Boyer, Bourbon, Indiana, Matt Turnpaugh, Rochester, Indiana, Chelsie Turnpaugh Fort Wayne, Indiana, mother-in-law, Dixie Hays, Elkhart, Indiana, sisters-in-law, Tonya (Tim) Buell, Elkhart, Indiana, Tracy (Bernard) Todd, Dallas, Georgia, Diane Hays, Roseland, Indiana, Doug Working, Peru, Indiana, good friend, Jana Vance and her entire Zebra Family. Friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Private services will take place with interment to follow at Citizens Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.
