Olive M. Shanks

Olive M. Shanks 87, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 7:17 A.M. Monday, January 8, 2024 at Wynnfield Crossing, Rochester.

She was born on November 30, 1936 in Cass County, Indiana, the daughter Raymond and Clara (Cook) Lunsford. On September 3, 1953 in Lucerne, Indiana, she married Thomas J. Shanks. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2015.

Olive had been a seamstress for Hart, Schaffner & Marx retiring after thirty- three years. She had also worked with her husband at E & B Paving. She had attended the Catholic Church and enjoyed riding motorcycles, reading, line dancing and spending time in Florida.

Survivors include her children, Pamela Baldwin, Kewanna, Indiana, Kathy Dunwoody, Logansport, Indiana, Laurie (Matt) Cox, Rochester, Indiana, ten grandchildren, twenty- four great grandchildren and eight great -great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Randy Alan Shanks, Thomas Shanks, one granddaughter, four sisters and son-in-law, Steve Baldwin.

Friends may visit from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Friday, January 12, 2024 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Private burial will take place at Fulton Cemetery, Fulton, Indiana.
