Monte D. Mitchell

Monte D. Mitchell 75, Logansport, Indiana, and formerly of Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 11:20 P.M. Monday, March 2, 2026 at his residence.

He was born on January 4, 1951 in Plymouth, Indiana, the son of Howard E. and Dorothy M. (Ullery) Mitchell.

Monte had worked as a cook for Paradise Truck Stop and at the former Dugout Tavern for many years. In his leisure time, he enjoyed music, cooking, taking walks, and spending time at the park.

Survivors include his children, Marlo (Rodney) Hudson, Rochester, Indiana, Shayn Mitchell, Rochester, Indiana, Shanon Corn and fiance’ Omer Smith, Rochester, Indiana, Trey Mitchell and companion Kelly Rock, Kewanna, Indiana, grandchildren, Cody (Amanda) Hudson, Akron, Indiana, Corbin (Kaley) Hudson, Akron, Indiana, Courtney Melton, Akron, Indiana, Seth (Mandy) Corn, Winamac, Indiana, Shaylee (Ryan) Ranstead, Rochester, Indiana, Skyla Mitchell, Kewanna, Indiana, twelve great grandchildren, siblings, Connie Lou Mitchell, Rochester, Indiana, and Sharon Willyerd, Lakeland, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.
