Michael Gene Reed

Michael “Mike” Gene Reed 57, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 12:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on March 3, 1966 in McDowell, Kentucky. Growing up in Floyd County, Kentucky, he was a 1984 graduate of Prestonsburg High School. He moved to Indiana and was employed in the Recreational Vehicle Manufacturing Industries.

Mike was known for his humor, mischievous, smile, and being naturally charismatic. He could bring joy and laughter to any occasion. He loved being outdoors. His favorite past times were fishing, looking for morels and hunting. He was the happiest in camouflage.

Survivors include his daughters, Bridgette (Brad) McClish, Huntertown, Indiana, Keisha (Jose) Melendez, Peru, Indiana, son, Phillip Reed, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Makayla McClish, Huntertown, Indiana, Lindsey Zeiger, Huntertown, Indiana, Gabriella Jimenez, Peru, Indiana, Bryson McClish, Huntertown, Indiana, Zane Whybrew, Peru, Indiana, Brayden Whybrew, Peru, Indiana, Jose Melendez, Peru, Indiana, Antelio Melendez, Peru, Indiana, mother, Alice “Kat” Ousley, Rochester, Indiana, companion, Diane Blankenship, Rochester, Indiana, siblings, Cleisa (Jerry) McCoy, Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Melissa Ousley, Logansport, Indiana, Marti Banic, Rochester, Indiana, Sandra Reed, Martin, Kentucky, Dean (Michelle) Ousley, Bourbon, Indiana, step-sons, Seth Blankenship, Rochester, Indiana, Corey Blankenship, Rochester, Indiana, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mart and Dora Reed, brother, Phillip Reed and granddaughter, Makena Kay Whybrew.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
