Marilyn R. Blacketor 90, Jacksonville, Florida, and formerly of South Bend, Indiana and Fulton County, Indiana, passed away at 11:55 A.M. Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Ortega Gardens Care Center, Jacksonville, Florida.
She was born on November 4, 1932 in Cass County, Indiana, the daughter of Harry Paul and Thelma Fay (Skinner) Culp. On May 23, 1951 in Fulton, Indiana, she married William J. “Bill” Blacketor and he survives.
Marilyn worked for L.S. Ayres Department Store for many years while living in South Bend. She and her husband Bill retired to the Jacksonville, Florida area about twenty years ago. She enjoyed spending time with her Bible study groups and her family.
Survivors include her husband, William J. “Bill” Blacketor, Jacksonville, Florida, children, Daniel (Joanna-spouse) Blacketor, South Bend, Indiana, Gary (Terese-spouse) Blacketor, South Bend, Indiana, Sharolyn Blacketor (Lance Helton-spouse), Jacksonville, Florida, Matthew (Sherri-spouse) Blacketor, Jacksonville, Florida, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Steven Blacketor, and siblings, Wanda Dinsmore, Harry Blane Culp, Paul Culp and Joyce Johnson.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
