Lynn Nelson

Lynn Nelson 83, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 7:42 A.M. Saturday January 1, 2022 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana.

He was born on January 26, 1938 in Rochester, Indiana, the son of Elton and Elizabeth (Swartz) Nelson. On June 13, 1959 in Milaca, Minnesota, he married Darlene M. Purdy and she survives.

Mr. Nelson established Nelson Well Drilling and Plumbing in 1970 in Rochester. Although retired, he was still active in the daily operations of the business with his family. He had been a member of St. John Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, playing solitaire, and plumbing.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene M. Nelson, Rochester, Indiana, children, Brian (Kerry) Nelson, Rochester, Indiana, Kevin (Shannon) Nelson, Rochester, Indiana, Lisa (Mike) Allman, Rochester, Indiana, seven grandchildren, Branden (Priscilla) Nelson, Brett Nelson, Travis (Lauren) Nelson, Mitchell Allman, Lindsay Yocum, Kara Nelson, Skylar (Amber) Yocum, eight great grandchildren, Brooke Nelson, Alexsis Nelson, Addison Nelson, Vallorie Nelson, Blayke Nelson, Avery Nelson, Malachi Yocum, Penelope Yocum, sister, Marilyn (Mike) Moyer, Milaca, Minnesota, sister-in-law, Joann Nelson, Baldwin, Wisconsin, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tonya Lynn Nelson, brother, Dale Nelson and sister, Ardith Morrison.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday January 8, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Rochester, Indiana, with Pastor Curtis May officiating. Friends may visit from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 7, 2022 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana and one hour prior to service Saturday at the church.
