Kay M. Brash 73, Rochester, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021, surrounded by her family at her residence.
Kay was born on February 22, 1947, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, to Norbert Francis and Evelyn (Knoedler) Schroeder. On June 6, 1970, she was joined in holy matrimony to Greg E. Brash at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, Indiana.
Kay graduated from Rochester Community High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana State University and Master’s Degree from Ball State University. She served her community as an educator for almost 40 years and retired from Caston Elementary School in 2009, where she taught the fifth and sixth grades. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she served as a Youth Group Educator, Eucharistic Minister, and Captain of the Good Sam’s Group. Kay was blessed with many talents and hobbies including sewing, photography and golf, but her greatest joy was spending time with friends and family, especially her eight grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Greg E. Brash, Rochester, Indiana, children, Andrea (Rob) Sullivan, Warsaw, Indiana, Shelly (Kevin) Meyer, Cincinnati, Ohio, Tom (Vickey) Brash, Los Angeles, California, grandchildren, Rob Sullivan, Megan Sullivan, Drew Sullivan, all of Warsaw, Indiana, Ethan Meyer, Blake Meyer, Griffin Meyer, all of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jacob Brash and Kaitlyn Brash, both of Los Angeles, California, brothers, Paul (Linda) Schroeder, Anderson, Indiana, Dale (Julia) Schroeder, Columbus, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Beth Carroll.
Friends may visit from 2-5 P.M. Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Private funeral services will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her name be made to the Susan G.
