Karen Sue Shidler

Karen Sue Shidler 62, Rochester, Indiana, passed away on Friday morning, July 30, 2021, at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois.

She was born on May 30, 1959 in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was the daughter of Joe and Betty M. (Reynolds) Westmoreland. She spent ten years of her childhood residing in California before moving back to Northern Indiana to start high school. On January 8, 2002 in Rochester, Indiana, she married Daniel E. Shidler and he survives.

Karen had worked for Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver, Indiana and Plymouth, Indiana and had been a homemaker. She enjoyed playing video games and being with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel E. Shilder, Rochester, Indiana, son, Joe (Jennifer) Hamilton, Culver, Indiana, step-daughter, MaShana Shidler, Knox, Indiana, grandchildren, Kaylee Hamilton, Madlin Hamilton, Breanna Hamilton, Jaden Hamilton, Payton Hamilton, all of Culver, Indiana, Kaydance Watts, Knox, Indiana, brothers, James Michael King, Colfax, Indiana, John (Jennifer) King, Rochester, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Gregory King and Bob King.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
