Jung Yu Yu

Jung Yu Yu 81, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 3:55 P.M. Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at his residence.

He was born on October 11, 1943 in Goang Dong, China, the son of Fa Yu and Tsen Tzu Yu. On August 30, 1987 in Taiwan, he married Siem Phoun and she survives. Jung moved to the United States in 1989.

Jung had worked as a mechanic and at a body shop in Taiwan. He later worked for his family restaurant in Rochester. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, running and building projects.

Survivors include his wife, Siem Yu Yu, Rochester, Indiana, daughters, Jennivine (Levi) Pitman, Vanuatu, Dr. Lena (Alex Opell) Yu, Bloomington, Indiana, grandchildren, Jonathan Pitman, Luke Pitman, Amos, Pitman, and Titus Pitman, all of Vanuatu, two brothers, of Taiwan and Paris, France respectively. He was preceded in death by his sister and parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
