John Patrick Gartland Jr.

John Patrick Gartland Jr. 68, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 8:03 P.M. Friday, January 10, 2025 at his residence.

He was born on August 16, 1956 in Peru, Indiana, the son of John Patrick and Ann Zara (Gardner) Gartland Sr. On February 14, 1997 in Negril, Jamaica, he married Ellen Roper and she survives.

John had retired as Project Supervisor for Miller Electric Company based out of Jacksonville, Florida and had been a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, socializing with family and friends, reading and was an avid Notre Dame Football fan.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Gartland, Rochester, Indiana, son Karl Gartland, Cassopolis, Michigan, grandchildren, John Partick Gartland IV, Granger, Indiana, Jalynn Gartland, Buchanan, Michigan, Isabella Gartland, Cassopolis, Michigan, Mark Gartland, Cassopolis, Michigan, Meagan Jane Williams, Marietta, Georgia, siblings, Nancy Spitznagle, Peru, Indiana, Kathryn Caldwell, Indiana, Diane (George) Goodrich, Arizona, Elaine Mishler, Texas, Jeanne (Karl) Houck, Noblesville, Indiana, Bill Gartland, Marion, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, John Patrick Gartland III, and step-son, Ken Williams.
