James “Jimmy” Edward Nash 72, Mentone Indiana, passed away peacefully at 5:34 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Jimmy was born on October 1, 1949 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He was the son of James Earl and Willie Mae (Futrell) Nash of Churchland, Virginia. They preceded him in death.
Jimmy was the former owner of J.E. Nash and Son Logging Company, member of the Ivor, Virginia, Town Council, Ivor Fire Department and Ivor Rescue Squad where he served for many years. In his earlier years, he enjoyed deep sea fishing adventures with friends. In his later years, he drove for Metal Span Trucking of Texas and retired from Metzger Trucking Company, Silver Lake, Indiana. Jimmy loved driving his Peterbilt and visiting sights across the country.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Conley Nash, Mentone, Indiana, daughters, Amy Howell (Chris), Ivor, Virginia, Catherine Vick (Andrew), Ivor, Virginia, stepchildren, Autumn Chaja, Mentone, Indiana, Lee Redinger (Heather), Rochester, Indiana, Cassandra Knight, Mentone, Indiana, grandchildren, Rachel Jones (Jordan), Ashton Howell, Nash Howell (McKenzie), Austin Vick, Ryann Boomer (Benjamin), Aaron Vick, step-grandchildren, Dakota Briney (fiancée Megan), Kia Gunnels (Jesse), Wyett and Stormy Knight, great grandchildren, Kelsie, Kohen and Kennan, step- great grandchildren, Kinley, Kohen, Sophina, Olivia, Carter Allen and Jesse Lee.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana, with Pastor Thad Stewart officiating. Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. A time of visitation in Virginia will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Parr Funeral Home, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, Virginia.
