Gregory “Greg” A. Gearhart 63, Fulton, Indiana, passed away at 1:41 A.M.Monday, September 19, 2022 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana
He was born on May 19, 1959 in Rochester, Indiana, he was the son of Larry and Donna (Becker) Gearhart. Greg graduated from Caston High School in 1977. On March 8, 1986, after meeting on a blind date he married Cheryl Lyn Stayer, and she survives.
He served fifteen years in the Indiana National Guard, running a Battalion Aid station, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Greg had worked in farming from a young age. He worked for various farmers in his youth, but finally ended up working for Zimpleman Farms until his passing. He also worked at Winamac Coil Springs and Lobdell Emery. He had also served as a volunteer fireman for forty-two years mainly on the Fulton-Liberty Township Fire Department, where he served as Chief for several years. He also was a volunteer on the Rochester Fire Department. He had also worked at Woodlawn Hospital in the ER as an EMT on the ambulance service. He was a member of the Fulton Baptist Temple and enjoyed Indian rock hunting with his kids, coin collecting, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Gearhart, Fulton, Indiana, son, Heath Lee Gearhart, Fulton, Indiana, daughter, Misty Leann Gearhart, Fulton, Indiana, grandchild, Brayden Michael Gearhart, Fulton, Indiana, parents, Larry and Donna Gearhart, Fulton, Indiana, brother, Rick (Amy) Gearhart, Winamac, Indiana, sister, Diane Gearhart, Rochester, Indiana, several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Fulton Baptist Temple, Fulton, Indiana. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the church.
