Georgia Townsend

Georgia Mae Townsend 88, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 3:25 A.M. Friday, November 26, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Peru, Indiana.

She was born on June 21, 1933 in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Orville E. and Dessie (Edwards) Renfroe. On August 27, 1950 in Macy, Indiana, she married Harold L. Townsend. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2013.

Georgia had been a homemaker as well as Real Estate Agent and Appraiser. She had worked in Real Estate Markets in Indianapolis, Indiana and Peru, Indiana. While living in Indianapolis, she had been a member of the North United Methodist Church and upon her return to Rochester, she attended Grace United Methodist Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing.

Survivors include her daughters, Victoria Lynn Townsend, Peru, Indiana, Laura Ann Mihankhah, Lexington, Kentucky, two grandchildren, several great grandchildren, sister, Cora (Richard) Reese, Denver, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marsha Ann Koons.

Private interment will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Animal Adoption and Education Center or the Fulton County Public Library. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana.
