George A. Halterman

George A. Halterman, 90, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 2:28 P.M. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on March 28, 1932, in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Rex and Ruby (Newcomb) Halterman. George graduated from Richland Center High School in 1950 and was a member of their basketball team. After graduating in 1950, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War from 1952-1954.

On December 18, 1953, in Rochester, Indiana, he married Marilyn Morris, and she survives. George worked for the United Parcel Service for 27 years, retiring in 1988. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Halterman, Rochester, Indiana, daughter, Tami (Joe) Paulik, Rochester, Indiana, son, Mike (Lola) Halterman, Indianapolis, Indiana,   grandsons, Bob Paulik, Rochester, Indiana, Rafer Paulik, Rochester, Indiana, Tyler Halterman, Indianapolis, Indiana, brother, Ned (Jane) Halterman, Rochester, Indiana, brother-in-law, Bob Tillman, Twelve Mile, Indiana, sister-in-law, Sharon Morris, Rochester, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Sue Tillman, and Judy Jones.

Private services will be observed. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.
