Gary Bowens Obituary

Gary Bowens 69, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 7:10 P.M. Monday February 25, 2019 at Methodist Southlake Hospital, Merrillville, Indiana.

He was born on February 22, 1950, the son of Earl and Martha (Vanover) Bowens. He had worked as a carpenter for many years. He enjoyed fishing, watching western movies and loved being in the outdoors.

Survivors include his children, Robert Hardesty and fiance’ Skyler Creviston, Gary Hardesty and fiance’ Jessica Jefferies, Travis Hardesty and fiancee’ Cortnie Tuttle all of Rochester, Indiana, Amy Bowens, Bluffton, Indiana, Kelly Bowens and Angie Bowens several grandchildren including, Spencer Hardesty, TiLeasha, Dustin Jr., Ciarra and Noah all of Rochester, Indiana, brothers, Larry wife Kathy Bowens, Rochester, Indiana, Ralph Bowens, Goshen, Indiana, David and husband Eddie Bowens, Goshen, Indiana, James Bowens, Bunker Hill, Indiana, sisters, Linda Bowens, Bonnie Bowens, Cathy Ann Conrad, and Geraldine Randolph, all of Goshen, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Carolyn Bowens and “Cookie” Bowens.

Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. Saturday March 9, 2019 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gary Bowens Memorial Fund through the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
