Evabelle Lewis Enyart

Evabelle Lewis Enyart 92, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 12:33 A.M. Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Hickory Creek of Rochester.

She was born on August 23, 1929 in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Lee and Martha Washington (McGraw) Lewis Sr.

After raising her four children, Evabelle rejoined the work force working as a bookkeeper in South Bend, Indiana for South Bend Range and at Rochester Homes and Franger Gas in Rochester. As well as being a homemaker, she worked as an aid in the school system. She was charter member of the Mental Health Association in Fulton County helping create the first Learning Disabilities Classroom in the School System. She had been a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church and a Cub Scout Leader. As a dedicated homemaker, she was known for her culinary skills, as well as a skilled seamstress having made much of the children’s clothes as youngsters. She was an avid animal lover and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Sherry Wisler, Elkhart, Indiana, Linda Rasnick, Brookston, Indiana, Cathy Prewitt, Copley, Ohio, Gary (Gina) Enyart, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Angelique Wisler, Chicago, Illinois, Megan (Bradley) Martin, Martinsville, Indiana, Joselyn Rasnick,  Indianapolis, Gretchen (Dave) Longfellow, Chalmers, Indiana, Margot (Bob) Beesley, Akron, Ohio, Lisa (Tim Boswell) Rupple, Medina, Ohio, Adam (Amber) Enyart, Rochester, Indiana, Audrey Enyart, Rochester, Indiana, great grandchildren, Emerson Rose, Chase, Kaley, Hanna, Ryan, Lillianna, Elise, Lucas, Carson, Madeline Moon, Teagan, brother, Clyde (Jane) Lewis, Logansport, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mark Prewitt, sisters, Harriet Herrell, Sarah Jane Young, Louise Cook, Evelyn Ballinger, brothers, Raymond Lewis, Jack Lewis, Harvey Lewis, and Lee A. Lewis Jr., and children’s father, Emerson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday April 29, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Rochester, Indiana, with Pastor Curtis May officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.
