Elwyn “Al” Allen Jenkinson 86, Kewanna, Indiana, passed away at 7:10 A.M. Monday, November 24, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver, Indiana.
He was born on February 1, 1939 in Owosso, Michigan, the son of Cecil and Leora (Christopher) Jenkinson. Al served with the United States Army from 1956- 1958. On June 16, 1962 in Plymouth, Indiana, he married Judy Eskridge and they’ve enjoyed over sixty-three years of marriage.
Al started his professional career working at various factories before becoming the owner/operator of Al’s Tree Service and eventually Jenkinson’s Tree Service. A dedicated arborist, Al worked hard in the preservation and care for trees.
He had been a member of the Riverview Community Church and had served as Chaplain for Gideon’s International, Fulton Camp. A man of strong faith, Al enjoyed reading the Bible and ministering to others the message of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed motorcycles, bowling, collecting old cars, refurbishing old cars, and car shows.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Jenkinson, Kewanna, Indiana, children, Katharine (Robert) Clingler, Rochester, Indiana, Douglas A. Jenkinson, Rochester, Indiana, Michael E. (Susan) Jenkinson, Leiters Ford, Indiana, Daniel T. (Angel) Jenkinson, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Melissa, Christy, Allen, Brittany, Sara, Chris, Emily, Morgan, Garrett, Ezra, twenty four great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, sisters, Sharon Becker, Rochester, Indiana, Gracie Koontz, Rochester, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Steward E. Jenkinson, Dale C. Jenkinson, Leslie Jenkinson, sister, Joan Bowker, two grandchildren and a son-in-law.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 1, 2025, at Leiters Ford Cemetery, Leiters Ford, Indiana, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans’ Honor Guard. Friends may visit from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Monday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana.
