Doris L. Eshelman 100, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 10:19 A.M. Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Wynnfield Crossing, Rochester, Indiana.
She was born on March 11, 1920 in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Loren and Laura M. (Holz) Emmons. Doris attended Talma High School, where she played violin in the school band and graduated as Salutatorian in 1938. After graduating from High School, she worked for banks in Culver and South Bend, Indiana. On June 29, 1946 in Rochester, she married Albert Leroy Eshelman. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2013.
Doris had previously worked for Topps Apparel in Rochester, the Department of Motor Vehicles as well as performing accounting duties for the family farm. She had been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the Homemakers Club. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and maintaining the family household.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce L. and husband David Walker, Hebron, Indiana, granddaughters, Julie Mikulich, Lowell, Indiana, Jackie and husband Cory Gibson, Naperville, Illinois, great grandchildren, Camden Mikulich and Easton Mikulich, both of Lowell, Indiana, Halle Gibson and Riley Gibson, Naperville, Illinois, sisters-in-laws, Jeanette Geiselman, Culver, Indiana and Barbara H. Emmons, Tipp City, Ohio, three nieces and eight nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Loren Emmons.
Private Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 25, 2020, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.
