Obituary

Bonnie S. Sherk 77, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 8:10 A.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Golden Living Center, Knox, Indiana.

She was born on December 31, 1944 in Warsaw, Indiana, the daughter of Willis Gene and Edna Louise (Whetstone) Cowen. On June 23, 1962 in Teegarden, Indiana, she married Rodger L. Sherk. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2016.

Bonnie had worked at Akron Schools early in life and had been a homemaker caring for her family and the family farm. She had attended Silver Creek Church of God and had been active as a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Beth (John) Hilbert, Peru, Indiana, Betsy (Chris) Gardner, Rochester, Indiana, Ryan (Joanna Tewalt) Sherk, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Krista and Caleb Gardner, Rochester, Indiana, Charity, Taylor and Braxton Sherk, Argos, Indiana, brothers, Dewey (Sharon) Cowen, Galveston, Indiana, Rodger Cowen, Plymouth, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 24, 2022, at Sand Hill Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County 4-H Fair.
