Betty Elizabeth Hall passed away peacefully at the Wynnfield Crossing Senior Community at 7:30 pm on June 21, 2021, at the age of 96. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John D Hall. Betty was born in Rochester, Indiana on December 8, 1924. Betty’s parents were Edward H. Sweany of Kokomo, Indiana and Bessy M. Guess Sweany of Crawfordsville, Indiana. Betty was the second youngest and the last survivor of her siblings. Betty’s siblings were: Marie Hagerman, Leiters Ford, Indiana, Violet Reddinger, Rochester, Indiana, Agnus Wynona Gates, Kokomo, Inidana, Lucille Becker Rowe, Rochester, Indiana, Douglas Sweany, Rochester, Indiana, Melvin Sweany, Rochester, Indiana and Helen Easterday, Warsaw, Indiana.
Betty is survived by her two sons from a previous marriage and their wives, William D. ( Nathalie) Schmicker and Richard D. (Wendy) Schmicker. Also surviving are three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Betty spent most of her time as a homemaker, but she worked at Logansport Memorial Hospital between marriages where she met her second husband, John D. Hall. John worked at the Logansport police force where he was a Sargent on his retirement. Betty enjoyed her chats with the caregivers at Wynnfield, and she enjoyed playing Bingo and Crazy 8s. Betty was a consummate shopper and her interest in fashion persisted through her final days.
Betty will be interred at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester in a private ceremony for the family. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
