On October 17, 1926, in Plymouth, Indiana, Desi and Olmer Becker welcomed their baby girl Barbara Jean Becker into the world. Barbara moved to San Diego in 1943 with her mother and sister, Betty Ann. She attended San Diego High School, graduating in 1945 and continued her education at San Diego and Coleman Business Colleges. Barbara had a corporate career with Pacific Bell, Microsoft, and Cox Cable. She became an outstanding Pacific Bell Telephone Company employee. She spent a few summers working for the company on Catalina Island and ultimately retired from AT&T. A handsome Army officer, Ben Loring Records, caught her eye, and they wed in San Diego in 1949. They had three daughters, Renee, Stephanie, and Suzanne. Barbara was a patient, loving, kind mother and infamous Nana to eight grandchildren, firstborn Lauren, Natalie, Tarek, Kyle, Emily, Erik, Haley, and Dallas; and Great Grandnana to Noah, Elin, Hudson, Ingrid, Anders, Malin, Killian, Mateo, Ronan, Rome, Jaxson and Kaia. Barbara's passions have sustained her in a life of beauty with meaningful and long-lasting friendships, art, and politics. Her international travels took her to Wales, England, Ireland, and Russia.
