A. Ruth Zartman 90, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 11:20 P.M. Wednesday October 27, 2021 at Wampler’s Senior Home, Bourbon, Indiana.
She was born on February 5, 1931 in Benton County, Tennessee, the daughter of Jessie and Lucille (Rayborn) Allen. On June 4, 1946 in Corinth, Mississippi, she married A. Garfield Mills. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1971. On June 28, 1974 in Michigantown, Indiana, she married Kenneth Zartman and he preceded her in death on September 2, 2004.
Over the years, Ruth had worked on the family farm, help operate the Cozy Corner Café with her husband in Fulton, Indiana, was employed by the Rochester Community Schools and later in life served as a Home Health caregiver. She was a member of the Rochester Church of the Nazarene and had participated in several short term mission trips to foreign countries and numerous trips to volunteer at Native American schools in New Mexico and Arizona. She had been an avid traveler visiting all fifty states and traveling to five continents.
Survivors include her daughters, Ann (Bruce) Beehler, Kewanna, Indiana, Jan (David) Dittman, Portageville, Missouri, grandchildren, Todd (Paula) Beehler, Rochester, Indiana, Troy (Shoda) Beehler, Rochester, Indiana, Traci (Tom) Coursey, Crawfordsville, Indiana, Megan (Chris) Murphy, Peachtree City, Georgia, Kelly (Kevin) Guthrie, Portageville, Missouri, Erin (Kevin) Clemons, Midland, Michigan, eighteen great grandchildren, sister, Zelma Gross, Paris, Tennessee, brothers, Wayne (Jenna) Allen, Paris, Tennessee, Jim (Vivian) Allen, Big Sandy, Tennessee, sister-in-law, Jemmie Allen, Big Sandy, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Willie Mae French, Kathy Walter, Betty Mathis, Wanda Hartley, and brothers, Ray Allen and Roy Allen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday November 1, 2021 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana with Pastor Don Meyer officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Kewanna I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Kewanna, Indiana.
