Richard Allen Schippers

Richard Allen Schippers 56, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 7:57 P.M. Thursday January 9, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on August 1, 1963 in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of William and Ruth Ann (Redman) Schippers. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Air Force.

Mr. Schippers was currently employed with Rochester Metals, Rochester, Indiana. He was a member of the Freedom Riders, enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, fishing, hunting, playing golf and enjoyed hanging with his friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Shelby Krol-Schippers, Muskegon, Michigan, mother, Ruth Ann Schippers, Rochester, Indiana, sisters, Eileen and husband Don Larabee, Holton, Michigan, Patricia and husband Frenchie Lamay, White Cloud, Michigan, Kathy and husband Jim Ruby, Argos, Indiana, Jody Martin, Muskegon, Michigan, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday January 15, 2020 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 P.M. Thursday January 16, 2020 at Throop Funeral Home, Ravenna, Michigan, where friends may visit from 12:00 P.M to service time.
