Pat Syler, 87, of Rochester, passed away March 9, 2018 at Parkview Hospital in Ft Wayne, surrounded by her family and her Pastor, Thad Stewart.
She was born Patricia Ann Eaton on December 22, 1930 in Silver Lake, Indiana, the daughter of Marshall E. and Helene (Bashore) Eaton. She and her brother, Garwin, were raised on a farm outside of Mentone. Prior to her marriage in 1974 to Thomas G. Syler, Pat was blessed with 3 daughters, Vicki, Debra, and Tamara.
Tom preceded her in death on February 23, 1989. She was a devoted member of the Omega Church, Akron, Indiana, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She cherished the fun and faithful church family she had at Omega, and she will be missed by all.
Survivors include her children, Tammie (Tamara) Caywood, Rochester, Debra (Richie) Magan, Pompano Beach, Fl, step-daughters Robin (Pat) Burkett and their children, Matt, Amy and Natalie, Tracy (Chuck) Pocock and their daughter Charlie, Tomi (Jeff) Syler-Bryant. Pat loved her little dog, Muffin, who joins the canine family at her daughter Tammie’s home. Pat is also survived by granddaughters Jamie (Simons) Brewer,Laneia Gonzales, and grandsons Mark and Patrick Thacker, and Matt and Shane Simons.
Also survived by her brother, Garwin (Peg) Eaton, Mentone, Indiana and their children, Kevin (Teri) Eaton, Greg (Flo) Eaton, Kelly (Jeff) Howard, and Stacy (Kenny) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Vicki (Caywood) Parsons, step-daughters Judy Gonzales, Marge Thacker and Sheryl Simons.
