Nila N. Easterday

Nila N. Easterday 82, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 4:12 A.M. Saturday May 25, 2019 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana.

She was born on June 23, 1936 in Miami County, Indiana, the daughter of Noah C. and Ocie M. (Snyder) Lockwood. On October 9, 1954 in Mexico, Indiana, she married James Alfred Easterday and he survives.

Mrs. Easterday had been a homemaker and had attended Perrysburg Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the Macy Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and also enjoyed caring for other friends and family.

Survivors include her husband, James A. Easterday, Rochester, Indiana, children, Diane and husband Gary Raber, Macy, Indiana, Donna and husband David Emery, Macy, Indiana, Robert L. Easterday and companion Annie Beechy, Rochester, Indiana, step grandchildren, Brian Raber, Terre Haute, Indiana, Haley (Jaisun) Hilliard, Indianapolis, Indiana, step great grandchildren, Benjamin, Natalie, Elijah and Gabrielle Hilliard, all of Indianapolis, Indiana, sisters-in-laws, Ella Lockwood, Rochester, Indiana, Norma Collins, Rochester, Indiana, brothers-in-laws, Homer Easterday, Silver Lake, Indiana, Mike (Bonnie) Easterday, Gilbert, Arizona, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ray Sheldon Lockwood and sister, Mary Ann Lockwood.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday May 30, 2019 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana, with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday and one hour prior to service Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Deedsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Indiana, Deedsville, Indiana.
