Mary Ann Hoyt Obituary

 

Mary Ann Hoyt 71, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 6:49 A.M. Tuesday September 3, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.

She was born on July 23, 1948 in Logansport, Indiana, the daughter of William and Josephine (Kopystecki) Nowak. On August 26, 1967 in North Judson, Indiana, she married Steve Hoyt and he survives.

Mrs. Hoyt had worked at the former Robertson Transformers, working as a production supervisor. She later worked at Life Care Center of Rochester for many years before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Swinging Dudes Square Dancing, former coach in the Junior Girls Softball League and had been active in 4-H. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed spending as much time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Hoyt, Rochester, Indiana, daughters, Joann Evans, Brownsburg, Indiana, Lisa (Mike) Elliott, Culver, Indiana, Cindy (Justin) Carmack, Avon, Indiana, grandchildren, Abigail Evans, Stephanie Evans, Jenna Moise, Brady Moise, Lexi Carmack, Marshall Carmack, Zoie Carmack and Zane Carmack, brothers, William (Pat) Nowak Jr., Crystal Lake, Illinois and Robert (Dixie) Nowak, New Palestine, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday September 6, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, Indiana, with Rev. Michael McKinney officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Thursday and from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. Friday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Winamac, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Angels for Alyssa (Methylmalonic Acidemia Research Fund) or St. Joseph Catholic Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
