Lorraine Severns Obituary

Lorraine K. Severns, 59, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 9:45 A.M. Friday July 27, 2018 at her residence.

She was born on April 6, 1959, at Luke Air Force Base, Maricopa County, Arizona, the daughter of Larry and Glennis K. (Coker) Lomax. Her family moved to the St. Louis, Missouri, area at a young age, where she spent many years. On March 7, 1981 in St. Louis County, Missouri, she married Terry L. Severns and he survives.

Early in her career, Lorraine worked at McDonnell- Douglas Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri. In St. Louis, she enjoyed coordinating the dance group, Happy Tapper Cloggers, and cultivating her lifelong, die-hard love of Cardinals baseball. Once in Fulton County, she assisted with Hearth and Home Christian Academy, worked at Greg Brown Prudential Agency and both Margaritta's and Alejandra’s restaurants. She was a dedicated softball mom for several years, helping coach and keep score and she assisted the Rochester Girls' Softball League with the grant writing for the Brent Blacketor Memorial Sports Complex. Upon her winters spent in Leesburg, Florida, she attended and enjoyed the Church of the Lakes.

Survivors include her husband, Terry L. Severns, Rochester, Indiana, children, Scott and wife Diane Severns, Kansas City, Missouri, Jill and husband Kris Warren, Rochester, Indiana, Todd and wife Cheryl Severns, Geneva, Illinois, Amanda Severns and fiance Kiel Williams, Rochester, Indiana, nine grandchildren, brother, Richard and wife Kanako Lomax, Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.

At her request, no funeral services will be organized. A Celebration of Life ceremony at her family farm will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Fund through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros.
