Joyce E. Ege 79, Macy, Indiana, passed away at 9:45 P.M. Sunday October 8, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver, Indiana.

She was born on May 3, 1938 in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Estel R. and Elma (Daggy) Rogers. She married Willard “Duke” Ege Jr. on November 22, 1980 at Nyona Lake, Macy, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2010.

Joyce had worked at various restaurants as a cook and waitress including the Eldorado Café and Mike’s Pizza in Nyona Lake. She also worked for the former Torrington Industries, now Lau Industries and had been an accomplished artists selling many of her paintings. She had attended the First Christian Church and enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles, playing Nintendo, making afghans and blankets.

Survivors include her children, David Hardacre, Mentone, Indiana, Susan Wert and companion, Scott Krater, Mentone, Indiana, Vicki and husband Carl Burman, Macy, Indiana, grandchildren, James and wife Taya Hardacre, Niles, Michigan, Crystal Wert, Etna Green, Indiana, Steven and wife Destiny Wert, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Jason Hardacre, Mentone, Indiana, Phillip Burman, Warsaw, Indiana, great grandchildren, Emaley and Addison Hardacre, Niles, Michigan, Jaelynn and Maya Wert, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, sister, Carol and husband Ted Flohr, Akron, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Melissa Wert, brothers, Eldon Rogers, Charles Rogers and Richard Rogers and sister, Kathryn Louise Spice.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday October 12, 2017 at Citizens Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joyce E. Ege Memorial Fund.
