Gordon C. Carlson 74, Macy, Indiana, passed away at 10:00 P.M. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on June 27, 1943 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Gordon William and Violet (Anderson) Carlson. He served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Returning to civilian life, he continued his work in the production of dental prosthetics. As a ceramist, he owned and operated dental prosthetics companies in Colorado, Arizona, Muncie, Indiana and for many years owned and operated Artistic Dental in Rochester, Indiana before his retirement.
Mr. Carlson had attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, Indiana and enjoyed woodworking, golfing, fishing, going to flea markets, shooting and loved to spend time in the outdoors.
Survivors include his children, Nicole Carlson, Woodland Park, Colorado, Gordon T. and wife Krissy Carlson, Keller, Texas, grandchildren, Gordon S. and wife Haley Carlson, Lawton, Oklahoma, Marleigh Carlson, Keller, Texas, mother, Violet Carlson Kavanaugh, Beech Grove, Indiana and his longtime companion, W. Chris Waters, Macy, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon William Carlson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday November 3, 2017 at St. Edward Catholic Church, Rockford, Illinois. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the church on Friday. Burial with military graveside services will be conducted at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, Rockford, Illinois. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral home, Rochester, Indiana.
