Jo Anne Burch 91, Rochester, Indiana passed away at 2:03 A.M. Monday, March 18, 2024 at Wynnfield Crossing, Rochester.
She was born on April 4, 1932, in Kosciusko County, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert and Juanita (Norris) Leckrone. Jo Anne graduated from Chester High School, North Manchester, Indiana in 1950. On September 12, 1952, she married Gene Burch. She and Gene moved to Rochester, Indiana in the fall of 1952 where they raised their three children and continued to reside. Gene passed away on May 23, 2013.
Jo Anne had been employed as an Administration Assistant for Sonoco Products in Akron, Indiana for many years and had also worked for the Chester White Company and the Division of Family and Children Services. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Rochester, and spent many years volunteering at Woodlawn Hospital Gift Shop. She enjoyed sewing in her younger days, collecting silhouettes, going antiquing and hunting for treasures, was an avid card player and Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie (Dan) Metzger, Fort Wayne, Indiana, sons, Alan (Donna) Burch, Cincinnati, Ohio, Eric (Beth) Burch, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Besty (RJ) Leburg, Indianapolis, Indiana, Alison Metzger, Caitlyn (David) Ludwig, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Neil (Allyson)Burch, Richmond, Virginia, Jacquelin (Michael) Barre, Huntsville, Alabama, Evan Burch, Cincinnati, Ohio, Brad Burch, San Francisco, California, Traci (Dan) Miller, Rochester, Indiana, Sarah Burch, Flagstaff, Arizona, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Duane Leckrone and granddaughter, Courtney Burch.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Friends may visit from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church.
