Wade Conley

June 20, 1936 ~ November 23, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Wade Conley, 81, Kewanna, Indiana, passed away at 3:46 A.M. Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana.

He was born on June 20, 1936 in Salyersville, Kentucky, the son of Bernie and Trinnie Ethel (Cooper) Conley.

Wade worked for the City of Rochester for more than 30 years in different areas, but his love was working for the Parks Department. He enjoyed mowing every day to make sure that when people came to Rochester, they could see how well the town was taken care of and that made him proud. At the age of 81, he still worked every day.

He was a fan of George Jones. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Eagles Lodge.  In his spare time he went to the American Legion to sign in hoping to win the big payout. Then he went to the VFW in Kewanna to visit everyone who became more like family than friends.

He went on adventures with three special nephews, Jim Conley, Danny Conley, and Terry Conley. They would always take him on trips with them to spend extra time with him. The last trip was to Four Winds Casino where he would tell the story of winning $0.59 and asking if I wanted to borrow some.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. To treasure the memories of how great and special a man he was, “Remember me with a smile and my black cowboy hat and cigar, and warm smile, because that is how I will remember you.”

Survivors include three children, Tammy Brown, Argos, Indiana, Melody and husband Dan Pine, Kewanna (Bruce Lake), Indiana, Joe and wife Cindy Conley, Rochester, Indiana, daughter-in-law, Jane Conley, Akron, Indiana, grandchildren, Heather Pine, Kokomo, Indiana, Christopher Pine and wife Hillary, Winamac, Indiana, Alisha Conley, Rochester, Indiana, Morgan Ribble, Peru, Indiana, Megan Conley, Akron, Indiana, Seth Williams, Argos, Indiana, one great grandchild, Willow Ribble,  sister, June Patrick, Valparaiso, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Troy Conley, sisters, Trixie Puckett, Bessie Enyart, and Julia Conley, and brothers, Walter, Ross, Russ, Bob, Forrest, Will, Wheeler, and Bernie Conley Jr.
