Steven S. Nard 73, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 12:32 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at his residence.

He was born on July 6, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Vernon Thomas and Mary Jane (Bates) Nard Sr. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School and served with the United States Air Force, stationed in Greenland, during the Vietnam War. On August 7, 1998 he married Patricia Kumpfer.

Mr. Nard had been a service representative for the Xerox Corporation. He had been a member of the Moose Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Lake Manitou Ski Club and the Tiger Club. He enjoyed skiing, parasailing and spending time with his family and friends at his residence known as “Nard’s Pointe” on Lake Manitou.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Nard, Rochester, Indiana, sons, Matt Nard, Rochester, Indiana, Andrew Alan Nard, Rochester, Indiana, Steven Scott Nard Jr., Plentywood, Montana, Robert L. Kumpfer, Chesterton, Indiana, grandchildren, Hunter Nard, Rochester, Indiana, Megan Nard, Rochester, Indiana, Erick Nard, Texas, Brittany Kate Kumpfer, Chicago, Illinois, Robert Padriac Kumpfer, Chesterton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his, parents, brother, V. Thomas Nard Jr. and sister, Jerry Dunbar.
