Linda K. Ringle

October 24, 1945 ~ August 29, 2016 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Linda K. Ringle, 70, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at her home on Monday, August 29, 2016, following a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s.

In Lafayette, on October 24, 1945, Linda Kay Miller was born. She was the  cherished daughter of Richard and Volet Weir Miller. Growing up as one of six children she shared her childhood with two brothers and three sisters. With great Zebra pride, Linda graduated from Rochester High School with the class of 1964.

Later that year, on December 19, 1964, in Rochester, Linda married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life Jerry Dean Ringle. Together they enjoyed over 47 years of life’s adventures. From their union came two wonderful children Brian and Tracy. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Initially Linda helped her family at the Sportsman’s Inn on Lake Manitou. She was a dedicated employee of Hart Schaffner and Marx for many years, later working at the Elks Club. Gifted working with her hands she enjoyed sewing and quilting. Grandma Linda created custom quilts for her grandchildren. She also made gifts of warmth for family and special friends.

To relax, Linda read books of romance. She shared many adventures with Jerry canoeing on the Wabash River. Many summer evenings or weekends were spent catching the warm breezes while riding motorcycles until his accident in 1992. From that time, Linda was the best caregiver to Jerry that anyone could be.

An annual even that Linda looked forward to was taking trips to Maryland to see her sister Cheryl Mattox and special nephew Harold Meyers. A favorite activity of Linda’s since her youth was spending time on Lake Manitou. She and jerry loved going to Tracy’s home and spending the day pontooning on the sparkling waters while reminiscing about earlier days.

Left to cherish Linda’s memory are a son, Brian (Sherry) Ringle, a daughter Tracy Overmeyer and companion Gary Storey, seven grandchildren, Shelly (Joe) Harrison, Tiffany Ringle, Brandon Overmeyer and fiancé Katie Evans, Mallory (Spencer) Johnson, Megan Ringle, Jordan Ringle, Ashley (Eric) Halterman, nine great-grandchildren, Makena and Emmet Harrison, Payton Adrienne, Brooklyn and Ella Halterman, Kinley Briney and David Andrews III.
