Kathryn L. Mounts 61, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 8:10 P.M. Thursday January 12, 2017 at Parkview Hospital Randallia Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was born on January 24, 1955 in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Leonard Earl and Phyllis (Smith) Barrett. On September 21, 1974 in Rochester, Indiana, she married Joseph D. “Joe” Mounts Sr. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2011.

She was working at Swan Lake, Plymouth, Indiana and had worked for Hickory Creek and Life Care Center nursing homes in Rochester. She had also been a motor route distributor for the Rochester Sentinel and South Bend Tribune. In her free time, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing Yahtzee.

Survivors include her mother, Phyllis Barrett, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Chase Bright, Rochester, Indiana, Matthew Mounts, Knox, Indiana, Jazmyn Mounts, Knox, Indiana, sister, Sue Schaeffner and companion Brad Peltz, Rochester, Indiana, companion, Michael McLean, Rochester, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph D. Mounts Jr., father, Leonard Earl Barrett, brothers, Charles Richardson and Gary Richardson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday January 16, 2017 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Friends may visit one hour prior to service Monday at the funeral home.
