John Coin Obituary

John E. Coin 67, Oakland City, Indiana, passed at 5:43 P.M. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital, Evansville, Indiana.

He was born on May 16, 1950 in Gary, Indiana, the son of John and Frances (Tyler) Coin.  He graduated from River Forest High School in Hobart, Indiana and received an associate degree from Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, Illinois.

John had worked for U.S. Steel in Gary, Indiana for many years. An avid bowler, John had been national amateur bowler and had bowled professionally. He was lifetime member of the Sons of American Legion Post 502, forty- two year member of the Eagles Lodge, Hobart, Indiana and had attended the Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a dedicated Chicago Cubs fan.

Survivors include his mother, Frances Coin, Oakland City, Indiana, brother, Michael Coin, Evansville, Indiana, sister-in-law, Ann Coin, Indianapolis, Indiana, nephews, Tyler Coin, Cisne, Illinois, Andrew Coin, Chicago, Illinois, Michael Coin, Indianapolis, Indiana, niece, Taylor and husband Jory Ellison, Newburgh, Indiana, cousins, Sharon Van Meter, Rochester, Indiana, Diana Sharpley, Portage, Indiana and Dennis Lane, Lafayette, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, brother, Roger Coin and grandparents.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday April 4, 2018 at Citizens Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com
