Becky and family,

Our hearts ache for you all. Jim and I used to ride on the same school bus. Jim was the first hero that I ever knew. I was about 9 years old when Jim made the unselfish and extraordinaire efforts to save his siblings during the fire. The scars on his arms always reminded me that he had been willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for others. When I learned that he donated his kidney, so that his brother could live, I was again reminded that sometimes even the ultimate act of kindness goes unheralded, but it is not forgotten. Jim never sought accolades for the good that he did. He often kept to himself and quietly did what others avoided, or perhaps even feared. Maybe, as with his gardening, Jim planted a few seeds that will grow in all of us to help us be better people.

I can not pretend to appreciate the pain of your grief. I pray that over the 46 years that you shared together, there are many fond memories of good times that will make you smile and give you hope.

God Bless You.
Tom

I'm sooo sorry Jim that you had to go through what you have, but know you're in a good place. My most favorite is us riding our ponies and your ornery pony Oscar and the laughs we had! You were a great brother and were always there if I needed anything and remember how you and Becky hurried home to be here for me when Dave died. Love you, RIP....

Jim was a great classmate and friend. Gave me rides home at times while in high school-you know farm kids stick together. We had one or two class parties at his house. Showed the town kids how much fun you could have on a farm! Just a couple of years ago, Jim and Becky helped me pull out some shrubs.
My thoughts are prayers are with all of his family. You know where I am if I can do anything to help in the days ahead. Hugs to all
