Howard James Lease 85, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 7:47 A.M. Saturday April 30, 2016 at Life Care Center of Rochester.

He was born on December 17, 1930 in Kewanna, Indiana, the son of Herrold J. and Alida (Babcock) Lease. On February 27, 1954 in Manchester, England, he married Joan Elizabeth Taylor and she survives.

Mr. Lease had worked for many years as a mechanic and had also done typewriter repair work. He  served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War and had been a member of the Kiwanis Club, Experimental Aircraft Association and the RAF Burtonwood Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, anything associated with aviation and working on mechanical projects.

Survivors include his wife, Joan E. Lease, Rochester, Indiana, children, Warren and wife Gloria Lease, Rochester, Indiana, Jeff and wife Colleen Lease, West Lafayette, Indiana, Matt and wife Debbie Lease, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Mike and wife Tara Lease, Rochester, Indiana, Brad and wife Cassie Lease, Lafayette, Indiana, Stacey and husband Dustin Reamer, Rochester, Indiana, Lindsey and husband Mathew Thomas, Jupiter, Florida, Mikki Lease and fiance’ David Ginsburg, St. Louis, Missouri, Nichole and husband Nathan Foxworth, Rochester, Indiana, Garrick and wife Denay Lease, Rochester, Indiana, Denae’ Lease, Rochester, Indiana, Kassie and husband Devon McCane, Rochester, Indiana, Jeremy and wife Becky Zeiger, Rochester, Indiana and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Lease and great granddaughter, Aylee Foxworth.
